It was great to see the level of interest shown in the recent ALF workshop on Managing Garden Soils. The workshop was conducted by local agricultural scientist John Davidson and ranged far and wide, offering some fascinating insights into the different soil structures, dealing with the common deficiencies in local soils and learning to read what our plants (and weeds) have to tell us.
For those who missed out, we will be offering the workshop again in 2011, so keep an eye out for it next year.
