Climate Game Change – Armidale event

383055_10151552362634491_1731995103_nThe Australian Youth Climate Coalition, or AYCC, is a generation-wide movement to solve the climate crisis. The local New England branch is a group of committed young people, mostly but not exclusively uni students, taking part in that movement. As part of a National campaign against massive coal expansions being proposed in Queensland, a National Day of Action is being held, and AYCC New England welcomes you to an event at the Armidale Club in solidarity of that Day of Action, on Monday 13th May, starting from 6pm.

Come for an evening of fun and entertainment, whilst helping to preserve Australia’s Great Barrier Reef. Our event is open to anyone in the community who is passionate about the environment. Our aim is simple: to stop the proposals for nine new coal ports in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef, and send a clear message to the Environment Minister not to allow such devastation.  Everyone will be given the chance to write a personal message to Minister Bourke to tell why they support a clean energy future.

Entry is completely free, although small donations are warmly appreciated, and food will be provided, along with live music. The bar will be open and guest speakers will top off the night.

So come along to the Armidale club, 91 Beardy St, on Monday 13th May from 6pm for a great night in support of a sustainable future and a safe reef
