Changing the Dream Symposium follow-up

Following on from the Changing the Dreamer Symposium and in answer to the question ‘Where do we go from here?”

Sustainable Living Armidale’s Heart and Soul Group have been holding ‘Gatherings” with the purpose of getting to know each other better, and sharing our own experience of sustainable living.

These are some of the things that people have put into practice since the symposium:

  • buying bulk food instead of supermarket shop
  • eating healthier food
  • purchasing more organic food, purchasing at farmers market, planning to grow food for farmers market
  • organising SLA soils day (21 August – booked out but there will be another)
  • organising Labyrinth (19 September 1130 – 1 pm) – contact us for details
  • planning for the next symposium on 7 November
  • planning to contact local groups in the Armidale area who are active in the area of environmental sustainability, social justice and or spiritual fulfilment and giving them a chance to present their group at the next Symposium
  • increasing social connection by getting to know eachother better
  • passing on information from books that they have been reading that were inspiring or brought new and relevant knowledge
  • focussing on spiritual connection
  • working together to make a submission to council on a relevant issue
  • using or planning for sustainable energy sources in their homes or other places
  • campaigning / activism re environmental and social justice issues
  • building community by getting to know each other better

If you would like to know more, or join us at a Gathering, subscribe to the Heart and Soul list.
