The AURG is undertaking a maintenance day at the Rologas Playing Fields (the old Wicklow area!) and surrounding area plantings (Holmes Ave and Douglas St). This will involve weeding in and around plants and repairing stakes and cartons as required. We chose this area because the plant growth has to been seen to be believed. This area was planted in November 2009, the survival has been excellent and the growth rate magnificent.
Details as follows:-
Time: 8am to try and beat the heat. Hopefully it will be all over by 1pm.
Date: Sunday 13 February 2011
Location: North side of Dumaresq Creek at Rologas fields close to Taylor St.
Site access: The best site is from Taylor St.
What to bring: Maintenance equipment such as forks, trowels etc. We will NOT be spreading mulch. Of course your own personal protection gear (gloves, hats sturdy boots, sun screen etc).
A morning tea and lunch will be provided for a gold coin donation. If you can bring your own mug that would be appreciated.
All members of AURG and the general community are really encouraged to come along and help out.
