The Armidale Urban Rivercare Group is holding its last working bee for 2010.  We will be doing a planting day this in conjunction with the HiCUB program. HiCUB is looking to establish some Showcase Plantings along the creeklands.  These are to represent the types of vegetation communities that would have been in the creeklands prior to European settlement.  The planting we will be doing is of mountain gum and its normal understorey.

Details of the working bee are as follows:-

  • Time:                8.30am for AURG members to help prepare for the community.  9am for members of the community.
  • Date:                Sunday 5 December 2010
  • Location:           South of the Donnelly St bridge.  Please see attached map.
  • Site access:      The best site access is from Donnelly St.

What to bring:   Planting equipment such as forks, trowels and lots of mulch spreading gear such as wheel barrows, buckets, large carrying implements, forks, rakes and shovels.

Of coarse your own personal protection gear (gloves, hats sturdy boots, sun screen etc).

A morning tea and lunch will be provided for a gold coin donation.  If you can bring your own mug that would be appreciated.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank the Armidale Dumaresq Lions Club members who come along to each working bee and feed and water us!  As such HiCUB staff will be doing the catering for the day and we have sent out a special invitation to the Lions Club to invite them along as participants rather than having to do the catering!

All member of AURG and the general community are really encouraged to come along and help out.

I hope to see you all there.
