Black Hole screening at Kent House — Friday 16th 6pm

Friday, 16 Sep
6:01 pm

Armidale Action on Coal Seam Gas and Mining and Progressive Cinema present Black Hole.

Friday, 16th September, at 6pm,
at Kent House, 141 Faulkner Street, Armidale.

Followed by community dinner. Screening and dinner free.

Set against the backdrop of an ever increasing thirst for fossil fuels by the extractive industries and Australian governments, Black Hole tells the story of the ongoing battle to save the last of an endangered woodland forest from being cleared to make way for the largest open cut coal mine in production in Australia.

Dr Kerri Clarke, Environmental Representative on the Maules Creek Coal Community Consultative Committee, will be present to inform us of recent developments and the current situation. She will also tell us about the work of the WANDO Conservation and Cultural Centre.
