You’re invited to the first Walcha Farmers’ Market

image001The Walcha Farmers’ Market Committee invites you to attend our first ever Walcha Farmers’ Market. We have over 20 stalls confirmed, including a diverse range of produce, by-products and home-made items sourced from the Walcha area and within the region. Look forward to gourmet and organic fresh vegetables, fruit, herbs, meat, bread, pastries and baked goods, dairy, poultry and eggs, sweets, condiments, wine, spices, honey, olive oil, plants and flowers, gardening items and beautiful by-products.

It is with pleasure we will be welcoming Rowan Tihema, Owner and Head Chef of Harvest Restaurant in the New England Regional Art Museum in Armidale, to officially open our first farmers’ market. Following this there will be a mouth watering Spanish Paella cooking demonstration. On completion you can purchase your own scrumptious plate of Paella!

  • Saturday 21st Sept
  • McHattan Park, Fitzroy St, Walcha (opposite Vistor Centre)
8.30am – 10.30am Breakfast Stall open serving bacon and egg rolls
9.30am Little Ladybird Plant Nursery in Uralla will be conducting a gardening workshop on ‘Understanding Soil Structure’
10.30am Official Opening, with special guests Janelle Archdale, Mayor of Walcha, and Rowan Tihema, Owner and Head Chef of NERAM Harvest Restaurant in Armidale
10.30am – 12:30am Gourmet lunch stall open
11.00am Spanish Paella Cooking Demonstration
All Day Events!
  • Espresso coffee, tea and hot chocolates available
  • Live Music by The Merimba’s with their earthy and soulful instrumentals
  • Kid’s entertainment including jumping castle, face painting and competitions
