Labyrinth walking meditation – Fri 21 and Mon 31 December

Friday, 21 Dec
7:30 pm
Monday, 31 Dec
4:00 pmto8:00 pm

Come and walk the labyrinth as you prepare for the turning of the year…

Friday 21 December will be a summer solstice walk, starting at 7:30 pm on the lawn below the NERAM car park. I would like to talk about the labyrinth before we start, for those who don’t know about labyrinth walking, and then we can all be walking before dusk to celebrate the last light of the longest day of the year. The labyrinth has already been marked out, so you can go and have a try before the solstice. Some of us will eat dinner beforehand at NERAM’s Harvest restaurant – ring Joy on 0403 966 517 if you want to have a spot reserved.

Monday 31 December – New Year’s Eve – the canvas labyrinth will be laid out in the Armidale Mall near the fountain between 4-8 pm. The suggested question to reflect on is “How do I want 2013 to be different than 2012?”. This event will not be facilitated, although I will be there the whole time with flyers and information about the labyrinth.

Next year I will be progressing the plans for Stage 2 of the permanent outdoor labyrinth on the lawn of NERAM as part of the Sustainability Precinct. This will involved the embedding of bricks or pavers into the ground to outline the paths, to save on line-marker paint! The artistic principle is called “process art”, whereby the art-work unfolds according to the energy and involvement of the people who get involved in the project.
