2022 Home Grown Garden Tour tix on sale now

Friday, 11 Feb
9:00 am

The Home Grown Garden Tour is back for its 10th birthday edition on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th February. You are invited into the backyards and community gardens of Armidale’s local food growers. After a tough few years of drought we are grateful to showcase these gardens, thriving in such a wonderful season. Come and share stories and ideas for growing food in our unique region.

Tickets are available online through Eventbrite or in person at Armidale Outdoors (cash only), 152 Rusden Street, from the 11th February. Cost is $5 if you travel by bicycle or $20 by car. If you purchase an online ticket you will be sent a digital copy of the map and schedule. If you buy one in person at Armidale Outdoors you will receive a hard copy.

Here’s how it works….

The weekend begins with a Welcome of Country at the Armidale Aboriginal Community Garden on Saturday at 9.30am. Then, start your ‘choose your own adventure’ garden tour by visiting the 8 gardens across morning (10am–12.30) and afternoon (1.30–4pm) sessions on both days.

AND join us for a ‘bring-your-own’ picnic to celebrate the 10th Birthday of the Home Grown Garden Tour at the Armidale Community Garden on Saturday 26th 4 – 7pm (live music from 5pm; event weather permitting).

The Home Grown Garden Tour is brought to you by Sustainable Living Armidale’s Local Food Group and the Armidale Climate and Health Project. Healing people and the planet happens in the garden when people are outside, together with our hands in the soil. For more information on the ACHP go to the project website: armidaleclimateandhealth.com.au

This event has been supported by the NSW Govt Adapt NSW Grant and Armidale Outdoors.

PLEASE NOTE: The Home Grown Garden Tour is a COVID responsible event. Please do not attend if you feel unwell or are experiencing any COVID symptoms. Please practice social distancing while visiting gardens and bring a mask in case you can’t physically distance. Host gardeners have the right to control access to reduce crowding when necessary.
