The Armidale Regional Council has a commitment to net zero emissions by 2030. Increased community participation and collaboration are keys to driving and accelerating the transition to renewable energy.
The Community Energy Congress 2024 in Sydney, 6-7 March 2024 will bring together leaders from communities, government, infrastructure providers and business to focus on how communities such as ours can affect this transition. Full program details can be found here: Program – C4CE Congress 2024.
Sessions in the morning of 6 March are
- 100% renewable energy communities and
- Australia’s energy future, with Saul Griffith as the keynote speaker
Sessions in the afternoon are
- Workshop: Creating the community renewable vision and
- Finance and partnerships
You are welcome to attend all or some of the sessions. Morning and afternoon tea will be provided.
The Regional Congress Hub at NOVA will provide the Armidale community the opportunity to remotely watch and participate in the Congress with others at no cost.
The hosts for the Armidale Hub are the UNE SMART Region Incubator, Electrify Armidale (Uniting Church)and the Community Power Agency, with support from Sustainable Living Armidale (REEACH) and Z-NET Uralla.
