Fixit Armidale Uralla Repair Cafe is a volunteer run skill sharing event that aims to help people help themselves, connecting local people which in turn builds resilient community.
Repair Cafes are a link in a circular economy, repairing and restoring items which reduces the need to buy new, ultimately reducing waste that ends up as landfill.
A Repair Cafe is a space where people can learn, share knowledge, ideas and a cuppa!
I am currently looking for clever fixer people to join the team, while also hoping to find people with things that need fixing who also are keen to learn how to fix it themselves. Is one of these you? I will be covering bicycle repairs but need Carpenters, seamstress, leatherworkers, small engine mechanics, electric appliance and device repairers. I have a few potential fixers but more wold be great.
“Fixit Armidale Uralla is setting up a Repair Cafe at The Black Gully Festival on Nov 9th at NERAM. This will be an introduction to the idea of Repair Cafes with information available so you can find out how they work. If you have something that needs mending. like a bicycle, torn jeans or maybe a chair, why not send us a message to register to learn how to fix it for free at the Black Gully Festival. If you are a handy fixer and want to get involved please contact us!”
If you are still on FB maybe take a look at the FB page here for more info … or
Hope you can come to the festival and find out more.
