Do political parties have a plan for the reef, energy & pollution?

Our_independent_guideThe Australian Conservation Foundation have created an interactive scorecard which rates the major parties on pledged responses to the issues of clean energy, pollution and environment. At the bottom of the infographic is a pledge form for you to fill out and uphold!

In the electorate of New England, we also have three candidates running without the flooding of information which political parties undertake at election time. They are Mr. Rob Taber, Mr. Tony Windsor and another fellow whose name I am unable to recall at the moment. Rob and Tony both support renewable energy and a cut to pollution. I am not sure of their track record and/or view on protecting reefs, rivers, forests and wildlife; although I dare say they are strong advocates on these fronts – especially in relation to the Great Barrier Reef.

Why elect a party candidate who is only then able to go on and influence their political party? By electing someone who is unaligned, we would be electing a representative who has a direct say in the national discourse.

    Yours sincerely,
    Mr. Tom Livanos.
