Sustainable Living Armidale are looking for entries from young people with innovative ideas for promoting awareness about climate change

have you got an idea about climate change?

The SLAYA Awards are an opportunity for young people who are making positive change in our community, or have ideas to do so, to be recognised and acknowledged. Whether it’s a widget, an app, an artwork, a performance, a service or an installation – we’re open to suggestion on anything that gives us a message about what your future might be like and how you might influence that future for a better outcome.

Awards:

For each age group: Youth (11–18yrs) and Young Adult (19–30yrs)

  • Most original idea (2 x $500 cash prizes, 2 x $250 cash prizes)
  • Idea likely to have most impact for change (2 x $500 cash prizes, 2 x $250 cash prizes)

Judging Criteria:

Tell us how your entry addresses the following:

  • Innovation, originality and creativity
  • Relevance
  • Helping others
  • Raising awareness
  • Replicability (if applicable)
  • Food responsibility (if applicable)

Format:

Open to anything that delivers the message, though additional background information is welcome to further explain the idea, how it might progress and/or what you believe it will achieve.

Entry is free, and winners will be announced at the May 2020

Key Dates:

  • Awards launch – at the SLA Youth Futures Forum, 3rd October, 2019
  • Entries close – 30 April, 2020
  • Awards announced – May, 2020
