This is a community competition that provides an opportunity for all residents in the Armidale Dumaresq Council area to creatively communicate the waste reduction message.
NIRW is inviting entries for the 2012 Waste > Art & Design Competition, proudly supported by Essential Energy.
Entries will be judged at the local level in the first instance, with the winning entries from each of the Council competitions being eligible to compete in the Regional Competition and Exhibition.
The regional competition has a fantastic prize pool on offer thanks to Essential Energy, sponsors of the regional competition. The local Armidale Dumaresq Council Competition has a small prize pool on offer – details to be advised in the near future.
Artworks are to be completed and delivered to the Training Room at the Recycling Centre, 108 Long Swamp Road, Armidale from Monday 2 July and Thursday 5 July 2012 and between the hours of 8am to 4pm. Entry is FREE!
A public exhibition of all entries will to be held from Monday 9 July – Sunday 15 July 2012, with the awards presentation scheduled for Tuesday 17 July.
The Regional Exhibition is being hosted this year by Glen Innes Severn Council in Glen Innes from 28 July – 11 August 2012 (location to be advised).
Judging criteria:
Winners will be selected from each of the three categories detailed on the next page and will be judged on the following criteria:
- Demonstration of reuse or recycling of waste / pre-loved materials
- Craftsmanship and quality of artwork
- Aesthetic merit , creativity & inspiration
