Change to opening times of the Community Garden

The community garden is proving so popular, that we’ve had to increase our opening hours, even as winter approaches!

We are now open from 1pm (until nightfall or weather stops us!) on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Although it is winter, there is plenty to see and do.  Some winter vegetables are nearly ready for harvesting, and the generosity of many donors is evident throughout the plot.  There are the piles of mulch donated by Council, the new tools from HiCub, the chook-house sitting cheerfully and patiently awaiting new occupants which was made for SLEX (thanks Hadley and James), seeds and seedlings from Ray, Robert  and Greenpatch to mention a few … and of course all the time put in by members and visitors to the garden.

We are still looking for a garden shed to house the wonderful tools donated by HiCub.  Please contact Jo if you can help out with this venture.

There is still, of course, a lot to do to prepare for spring, with new beds being mulched, seedlings needing watering, and old tomato plants removed, plants to be harvested and of course new ideas are always welcome.

Do come along and see/join in the fun.
