I recently had a look at the national cultural policy discussion paper. My view is that has not taken account of the cultural shift needed to take Australia from a high per capita energy consuming culture to a sustainable culture. It is simply more of the same, art and culture of the capitalist sublime and its cultural freedom legacy from the days of cold war cultural development. Perhaps SLA and other community members should respond to the discussion paper with an ecological angle. I will have a go personally if I get the time.
