Last week hectares of healthy coastal forest was cleared in South West Rocks for housing subdivisions, including large hollow-bearing habitat trees with nesting birds.
Habitat destruction is happening up and down the coast at an alarming rate and is down to weak environmental laws and ‘zombie DAs’.
There is an action you can take right now.
Voices of South West Rocks have put together a submission guide for the South West Rocks Structural Plan. Submissions due 14th March.
We want the remaining remnants of lowland coastal forest and threatened habitats protected by rezoning them from residential housing to environmental or conservation zones and this is one way to call for that.
