UNE SRI – Resource Security Innovations for Climate Resilience, CleanTech Futures Series #6 @ Black Gully Festival

The UNE SRI will deliver a CleanTech Futures Series event as part of this year’s Black Gully Festival (BGF) – an annual community-led festival in Armidale, with environmental sustainability as one of its core themes.

Two speakers will present, and then participate in a Q&A at this CleanTech Futures Series #6 to be held at the Packsaddle Gallery and UNE SRI Speaker’s space at NERAM from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at the BGF.

UNE SRI founder and Clean Tech entrepreneur Llewellyn Owens, Vesi Water will share his work and discuss water security and innovation.

Dr Nicolette Larder, a human geographer at the University of New England who undertakes research into the social and cultural dynamics of the Australian food and agriculture systems, will share her work with a number of community-based organisations trying to build a more just and sustainable food system.

Resource security is an issue that transcends natural disasters, and is a topic that is important to consider in light of increasing population, war, climate change and pandemics impacting transport systems and resource availability. Right now is also an import time to consider consumption, and how we may be empowered to better live within our means and move into a more circular economy rather than a throwaway consumer society.

To RSVP and register your attendance please visit the UNE SRI NOVA Webpage or simply turn up on the day.

Following the Futures Series event#6, and from 2:00pm to 3:00pm also at the Packsaddle Speaker’s space  there will be a Regenerative Food and your Local Region presentation facilitated by Glen Chapman (Southern Blue Regenerative) and featuring UNE SRI founder Richard Daugherty (Balala Butcher Box) and orchardist, cider maker and engineer, Tom Yeomans.

This event is proudly funded by the NSW Government under the Bushfire Local Economic Recovery Fund and delivered in association with Armidale Regional Council.
