Zoom: We’re Training a Movement — Rising Tide

There’s not much that tops watching a new movement explode with energy, and seeing that influx of new people, ideas and excitement!

And that’s exactly what we’ve watched happen with Rising Tide in the last year.

Let me take you back to February 2023. Just over 12 months ago about 25 Rising Tide organisers gathered in a beautiful patch of bush just near Newcastle for a training retreat where we dreamt up big dreams for the coming year…

Fast forward to February 2024, and after a whirlwind year of actions, connection and growth we once again came together to plan the year ahead. But this time we didn’t just have one retreat, we had five! And across our five retreats more than 200 people participated!

For five beautiful weekends around Australia, old faces and new gathered to connect, learn, sing, kayak, share food, train and plan.

In one year, we grew almost 10 times in size. So it just makes you wonder… how many of us will there be in 2025?

If you weren’t able to make it to any of our retreats, no need to feel left out, because we’re going to be hosting an online strategy training with one of the key workshops we ran at our retreats!

Smart strategic thinking is an integral part of Rising Tide’s DNA, so we want to share this thinking as widely and with as many people as possible. So in this hour and a half workshop, we’ll be digging into Rising Tide’s strategy and 3 of our key social change frameworks that inform our thinking.

So come along if you want to get more involved in this rapidly growing movement. We hope to see you there!

With love and hope,

Alexa for Rising Tide
