Platypus Project

Presenters include:

  • Bob Blair Project Manager, Aboriginal Cultural Centre and Keeping Place
  • Lou Streeting (PhD student, UNE) will outline her research on conservation actions for an endangered freshwater turtle & talk about her recent observations of a white platypus in the Gwydir catchment
  • Prof. Karl Vernes will present the platypus research findings by Honours student Aidan Clifton who utilised a range of techniques including DNA, camera trapping and personal observations
  • Lynne Hosking, President Armidale Branch National Parks Association, – protection of platypus in the Styx River State Forest
