Public forum in Armidale organised by Trains North
All welcome — The Main North Line — Securing a Vital Asset for the Future

Note that there is also a conversation with the public about the trains at Guyra bowling club at 6pm on 3rd August.
A panel of speakers will address:
- Restoration of passenger trains north of Armidale to Queensland
- Rail as a driver of economic and social growth
- Better public transport between regional centres and to major cities
- Strategy to reduce carbon emissions and dependence on fossil fuels
- Reviving rail freight and improving road safety and maintenance
- Opportunities for heritage trains to attract tourism
- History of the Main North Line and its current condition
- Value of a railway line on a good foundation free of floods
Show support for provision of train services to towns further up the line such as Guyra, Glen Innes and Tenterfield who have missed out for over 30 years. Demonstrate our community’s steadfast commitment to retaining the trains from Armidale to Sydney.
There will be ample opportunity for the audience to pose questions and make comments.
