SLA forum presents discussions on creating a Community Death Space.
According to a Guide to Green funerals 245kg of carbon is released into the atmosphere with every gas cremation and 50kg with electric powered crematory. We will find out about the history of the Natural Burial Ground that was proposed at Banded Bee Farm. Other discussions will be revisiting the idea of a community mortuary that can provide a more straightforward and sensitive approach to death. A community based not for profit service would use sustainable materials for caskets such as wicker, cardboard or shroud significantly reducing the cost and eliminating breakdown of poisons emitted by treated timber coffins.
