AURG Working Bee for Sunday 14 November venue now Yagoona Gully

Change of plan for this coming Sunday.

Bruce has had an accident injuring his foot; so cannot complete preparations at the St Peters site.

Instead we will change venues and meet at the eastern side of Yagoona Gully. Work will be similar to that previously advised and include cutting and pasting as well as general weeding of Persicaria and other competitive plants and general clean-up of the plantings to the east and west of Yagoona Gully. Bruce will bring a weeding guide to help identify plants to be removed.

Details for working bee are as follows:

  • Time8.30am
  • DateSunday 14h November, 2021
  • Location: East side of Yagoona Gully. The gate at Phil Wheaton Sports Field off Erskine Street will be open onto the Creeklands. As the area may be wet and boggy from recent and forecast rains it will be prudent to check before venturing too far towards the creek and park around the playing fields parking area and walk down to the work vehicles and trailer/s.
  • What to bring:   BYO long sleeved shirt, long pants and sturdy boots.  Please also bring gloves, broad brim hat and sunscreen.

Covid 19 Reminder. Bear in mind the current requirements for face masks, social distancing and group size whilst working and eating. We will allocate tasks and eating arrangements depending upon numbers. Angus has completed an AURG Covid registration with NSW Health and has a QR code to log in.  He has a NSW Health COVID plan and is developing a more detailed COVID plan for how it will work on the day.

If possible; bring your own gloves so that we are not risking contaminating the AURG gear.

AURG will provide equipment, morning tea and a BBQ lunch for a gold coin donation. Depending on numbers we may have to have staggered sessions for morning tea/lunch.

We look forward to catching up with you.
