Write a letter for #MassMailoutForClimate this September

Thursday, 30 Sep
5:00 pm

We all know that great damage is happening to our environment and there is a climate emergency. After 20 years we now only have a very short period of time to seriously address this climate change crisis.

People ask, “But, what can I do?” Well, here is a very strong letter campaign you can join. With your letter and another 30,000 letters, the message will arrive in parliament. We are all calling for real climate action, now.

Some great news; this is a way to show our 227 Members of Parliament that while they are not listening to the grassroots community, we are.

The letters are being counted and Zali is counting on us.

This campaign is a first of its type. It will let the parliament hear our message with a very large number of letters arriving at Parliament House, on one day. We, the public, are now demanding real action on climate change. Write to a parliamentarian you consider to be answerable for inaction and have your say. Your letter will be delivered en masse with 30,000 other letters, all calling for real climate change action. This campaign will generate good media coverage for the Bill.

This campaign will run through to 30th September.

On the 8th October all letters will be collected by ADAC — A Different Approach Community, sorted and delivered to Zali Steggall by the 18th October before the Climate Change Bill 2020 is debated in parliament. This grassroots community action will show, through this very large number of mailed letters, that we are all listening and we fully understand and know urgent climate action must be taken.

Our “Plea for Climate Action” in these 30,000 plus letters is in support of action at the COP26 summit in Glasgow and very importantly in full support of Zali Steggall’s Climate Change Bill 2020.
