URALLA SUSTAINABILITY EXPO
To support people to take their own actions towards sustainability, Z-NET Uralla is holding a hands-on Sustainability Expo on 3 August 2019, in partnership with Uralla Shire Council, as a Local Government Week event. Working together, there are lots of actions that the community and local government can take to make our day to day living more sustainable.
This free event runs from 9am – 2pm on Saturday 3 August at the Salvation Army Hall in Bridge Street, Uralla. The official opening by our local State Member, Adam Marshall, will be at 11am and the CWA will be cooking up hot scones as a fund raiser for McMaugh Gardens. Drop in, or drive down to Uralla, to see what a small community can do when it gets serious about staying safe and sustainable.
The Uralla Stainability Expo will have a great line up of displays and presentations to build awareness of what we can do each day. The Expo will feature entertaining and interactive displays on renewable energy, sustainable firewood, building design, water, waste, transport, food and preserving our natural environment – all presented by talented locals who have a passion for sustainable design and practice. A combination of technical experts and community members (including one of our schools) will be there to help the community explore ways to reduce the impact we have on our planet (and our wallets). Lots of the displays will be hands on and interactive to engage both the mind and body.
