Hi, Places are available for all tours.
An all wheel drive vehicle is preferable as the unsealed roads can be potholed and corrugated.
It is advised to fill up in Narrabri on the way to the Pilliga town ship, before starting the tour, and again on returning to Narrabri. Fuel is available in Barradine should it be required.
Costs- there is no charge for the tour, but a donation is welcome to help cover my costs. Costs include your fuel, accommodation and food.
Children have participated in the tour previously. there is a lot of time in the car. It is one time when electronic amusements are a good distraction.

Camp at Pilliga Hot Bore Baths or stay at Pilliga Hotel.
Spend some time at The Pilliga bore baths. BYO drinking water. Dinner at Pilliga Cafe. |

8.30am | Bring packed lunch, snacks, drinks, plenty of water, hat and sunscreen.
Leave Pilliga township, travel to Barradine, visit the Forest Discovery Centre |
11.30am | Leave Baradine and travel 33 km on unsealed road 50 minutes to Dandry Gorge. |
12.30pm | Lunch and walk at Sculptures in the Scrub at Dandry Gorge in The Pilliga Forest. |
3.00pm | Leave Dandry Gorge for the Sandstone Caves, distance 90km and 1¼ hr travel time |
Stay at Pilliga Pottery, own room, share room or camp.
Pilliga Pottery offers meals and accommodation or camping. You may be driving up to 320km by the end of the day!! |

8.30am | Depart. Bring lunch, snacks, drinks, plenty of water, hat & sunscreen.
Tour the coal seam gas fields, see drilling rig and production wells. Visit Bibblewindi plant, view the spill which killed several acres of vegetation. Or- Visit spill at Bohena 7 spill site with contamination and tree kill on Newell Hwy. Visit Leewood on Newell Hwy. Refuel at Shell service station on Newell Highway. Have your lunch here. View the mines from the property Wando. Leave if necessary to be home for Monday or stay in the cottage, or bring your camping gear, communal meals, or cook your own if preferred. The cottage has a flush toilets, maybe warm shower, kitchen, excellent drinking water. Donation of $10 per night to cover costs of food and utilities. Vist Leard State Forest, and see views of the Whitehaven Coal Mine and Maules Creek Coal Mine from the road. |
