Special Forum Thursday, 2nd November at 7pm
Kent House, opposite Central Park on Faulkner Street
Where to now?
Ten years ago a large group of Armidale people were concerned enough about our future to create SLA. Are you still interested in how we might locally respond to climate change, resource depletion, and loss of bio-diversity?
The forum will begin with a very brief overview of the history of SLA by three of the founders: Ray South, Jane Pickard and Bar Finch
Joc Coventry will then chair a discussion on SLA’s future:
- Is SLA still relevant?
- If it is, how can SLA involve more people and work with other groups?
- How might Armidale reduce its dependence on fossil fuels?
- What goals should SLA set for 2030?
SLA has held about 100 forums on a wide range of subjects. This one celebrates our diversity of voices and viewpoints—especially if you come along.
The Special Forum will be held at Kent House (Faulkner street opposite Central Park) at 7pm on Thursday, November 2nd. Talk and discussion will be followed by a light supper and a chance to converse informally. Gold coin donations are appreciated to cover the venue costs.
