Stay at Pilliga Hotel or camp at Pilliga Hot Bore Baths. BYO drinking water to bore baths. Spend some time soaking in the Pilliga bore baths. Dinner at Pilliga Pub or Pilliga Cafe |

Bring packed lunch, snacks, drinks, plenty of water, hat and sunscreen. Leave Pilliga township. Check out Gwagebar. Barnaby Joyce, MP for New England, has his ‘weekender’ near here. Visit Pilliga Forest Discovery Centre at Baradine, collect maps and leaflets. |

Leave Baradine and travel 33 km on unsealed road 50 minutes to Dandry Gorge. |

Lunch and walk at Sculptures in the Scrub at Dandry Gorge in The Pilliga Forest. |

Depart. Bring lunch, snacks, drinks, plenty of water, hat & sunscreen. If forest protectors are available as tour guides, tour the coal seam gas fields, see drilling rig and production wells. This section of the forest may be closed to the public. Visit spill at Bohena 7 on Newell Hwy Visit Leewood on Newell Hwy. Refuel at Shell service station on Newell Highway. Have your lunch here. Tour the Leard State Forest, and discover views of the Whitehaven Coal Mine with a protector or take a self guided tour (see Self guided tour of Leard Forest).
