Perma-blitz! Weekend 8–9 October — RSVP for location

Saturday, 8 OcttoSunday, 9 Oct

AURG - Road to Paris plantingDear All

You’re invited!

We have a  very worthy cause for our first ever SLA Perma-Blitz.

Chris and Claire Vickery, and their two young kids Lexie and Josh, moved to Armidale a little while ago.

Claire, unfortunately, is terminally ill, and while Chris has a background in horticulture and permaculture, he doesn’t have the time to bring his new yard up to a level where it is fully productive and where Claire and the kids can make the most of it and enjoy it in the time still available.

So . . . we’re going to help out.

Initially it’s a case of clearing, pruning, mulching and we hope some planting.  Chris has a chipper – but also a lot of branches that need to be munched up.

There are some beds in place and the soil is good basalt soil, so we don’t need to start from scratch.

What I need form you all –

First, RSVP if you can come – from 9am on Saturday 8th October and Sunday 9th October (address will be supplied to those who RSVP).

Let me know what you can bring – gloves, tools, a wheelbarrow, hoses, watering cans, seeds, seedlings, pots, anything you think might be useful.

Bring a hat, gloves, water and some lunch to share.

This is a great project for ALF and SLA to be involved – and make something special for Claire and her family.

So please let me know if you can come and help out for a few hours, the day or the whole weekend – any input is worthwhile.
