Member registration closes this Friday — 5 reasons not to miss next week’s Climate Assembly

Thursday, 17 MartoFriday, 18 Mar

bris14Sustainable Living Armidale is a member of Climate Action Network Australia, so if you are a paid member of SLA you can attend this.

Member registration closes this Friday 11 March, so get in quick if you’ve not yet registered.

Here’s 5 reasons you’ll not want to miss the event:

1. Inspiring & entertaining session on collective action: when and why we’d work together (and when and why not!?)  from our keynote speaker David Hunt. David will draw on his years of campaign experience to share stories and lessons from the history of collective action in USA and Australia, and shared insights on how to make working together work.

2. Election 2016: find out what’s the plan. Day Two will feature an election plenary sharing perspectives on climate politics from Canberra, and presentations and discussion on how the Climate Action Network’s member group’s election plans all work together in one beautiful coherent whole!

3. A high calibre range of workshops on up-to the-minute topics, including on coal closure, ‘Beyond Paris’, climate justice, geoengineering, the Homegrown Power Plan for 100% renewables, nature as a climate solution, the latest in climate communications and much much more

4. Music! Actors! Theatre! The Day Two Plenary on building and diversifying the movement will not only feature a range of speakers from diverse backgrounds and perspectives, it will also feature musicians and actors as the ‘Melbourne Playback Theatre’ brings to life some of the opportunities and issues involved with diversifying the climate movement.

5. Party! Don’t miss out on the climate movement social event of the year when we gather at the end of Day One for drinks, entertainment, celebrations, story telling and general merriment. Food is on us!
