Sustainable Living Armidale (SLA) is once again organising a Sustainable House Tour. It will be held on the weekend of November 8-9, 2014, and we are looking for suitable houses to include in the Tour.
We are hoping to have 5 or 6 houses in Invergowrie (plus 5 or 6 houses in Armidale) this time.
In making a final selection, we will be looking for old or new houses that incorporate features that reflect sustainable design, for example different aspects of passive solar design, materials used, construction methods and household types. We are looking for a variety of features/houses that will stimulate discussion and thought about domestic design and use.
Although the tour isn’t until November, we are hoping to select the houses this month, July.
SLA will prepare a booklet with a map, details of each house and its features, opening times, and articles about sustainable design. This booklet will be for sale and entitles the holder to visit at the times specified (with a carload of up to 4).
If you are interested in having 2 or 3 people from the organising group come and look at your place, and discuss the possibility of your place being considered, or if you have any questions, please get in touch by email or talk to Bar {local landline prefix}2 4667
If you’re willing, and if your house is included in the tour, it would involve agreeing to open your house for at least 2 half days that weekend, and being there to answer questions etc. We can offer a volunteer to be with you, if you would like.
