A group of students have formed an environmental group at Mary White College at Uni. These students recently met with the head of their college and discussed plans of what they want to do and where they see the college going environmentally. The outcome of this was the introduction of a college veggie patch and the possible introduction of chickens in the near future.
This Sunday the college are having a working bee to get the veggie patch started. Both the AYCC and the Mary White College environmental group we were wondering if SLA were interested in coming along and giving the students a hand? We are hoping to start the working bee at 10am meeting at the Mary White office.

I congratulate you on this brilliant initiative. I commend you on this fine initiative. I support you in this excellent initiative.
Upon my arrival in Armidale (to do the Bachelor of Sustainability) on Sunday 13 February 2011, I stayed in Mary White College i.e. on that first night. I stayed an additional six months.
I was then expelled from the college – effectively for life. I never expected nor wished for it to occur. Despite my total support for the establishment of a veggie garden within the college, I will not – 100% unfortunately – be able to assist with it.
Please accept this message as one of moral and attitudinal support from one who: i. loves the idea of community vegetable gardens; and ii. also once lived at Mary White College.
