15 Minutes for 15 Years in Armidale Dumaresq

Wednesday, 10 Apr
5:30 pmto7:30 pm

Armidale Dumaresq Council is urging us to help shape the strategic direction of our Local Government Area by participating in an online survey, called ‘Armidale Dumaresq Community Strategic Plan Review’. It can be accessed from ADC’s website.

Members of Sustainable Living Armidale are encouraged to get involved in this process to direct the future of our local area. Questions such as self-sufficiency in food and energy are included, as well as the new library, so make your opinions known to Council.
The survey is also available in print from strategic locations in the city such as the Armidale War Memorial Library and the villages such as Wollomombi and Ebor.

“The survey will review our Community Strategic Plan and check in with the Community to see that we are heading down the right path. Just 15 minutes of your time will help give Council’s direction for 15 years so this process is vital for clear direction and guidance.

“Check the survey to see if the big issues that concern you and our Community are included!

ADC is offering the Community several ways to give their ideas such as:

  • The Big Book of Ideas at the Council offices, Kent House Community Centre and the Library;
  • Forums/Workshops (see below for more information);
  • Visiting groups such as Indigenous and Service Club meetings.

However, one of the easiest ways to contribute is the online survey. If you need help, you may contact Council’s Customer Service Centre staff on T: 6770 3600; ADC’s Communications Officer, Anita Kazis, on T: 6770 3870, or visit the Armidale Digital Hub for free computer / internet access and advice at 4 Cinders Lane, Armidale (behind Town Hall).

Q & A about our Community Strategic Plan

All this and more is being discussed during two new-format Community Forums at the Armidale Town Hall:

  • 2:00 – 5:00 pm on Sunday, 7 April, 2013 &
  • 5:30 – 7:30 pm on Wednesday, 10 April, 2013

The forums will follow the format of ‘Q & A’ – the Australian television program, broadcast on ABC1 and hosted by an experienced news journalist. The program generally features a panel of five public figures, usually including politicians, media personalitites and celebrities, answering questions provided by viewers and the audience.

We will host our own version with members of our Community, moderated by prominent local identities, and Armidale Dumaresq Councillors.

Please register your interest as numbers for each session will be limited! Tea and coffee will be provided.

For all enquiries please contact Anita Kazis, ADC Communications Officer, T. 6770 3870, or akazis@armidale.nsw.gov.au.
