Threat to ecosystems on TSRs

TSRs in northern NSW containing some of the last and most significant stands of threatened ecological communities are under threat as the North West LHPA fences and leases them out for permanent grazing. 150 years of stewardship by LHPA and their predecessors has resulted in TSRs being incredibly valuable for conservation, public recreation and drought reserve. LHPA will be merged with CMAs on 1/1/2014 and it seems that the legacy of the last 18 months of their operation will be to destroy this heritage. Thousands of hectares of TSRs containing Coolibah Black Box Woodland, Weeping Myall, Natural Grasslands, Brigalow, Grey Box Woodland and Semi-evergreen vine thicket are being fenced and grazed under Annual Grazing Permits.
