Maria Gruber has contacted SLA with her concerns about the proposed mobile phone tower at Drummond Park, and wants members to know about the information sessions Telstra is holding: Thursday 28th June at Armidale Town Hall between 3pm – 5pm and 6pm -8pm. These will be drop-in sessions for the community to ask questions and raise concerns in a ‘1-on-1’ environment.
Maria and other residents are concerned about the visual and environmental impacts, noting that the area is a popular bushland reserve with an endangered ecological community that is of high conservation significance.
Local residents with a petition opposing the location of the tower will be present at the Town Hall sessions, asking Telstra to propose an alternative location outside of bushland and recreation areas.
