Bush Tucker, Boomerangs and Bandages 15 May

Banksiaintegrifolia5aMichelle Mckerney and Harry White will be giving a presentation on their excellent publication, Bush Tucker, Boomerangs and Bandages at the Australian Plants Socety Forum on Tuesday, 15th May at the TAFE Library seminar Room at 7.30 pm. This free book covers traditional Aboriginal plant use in the Border Rivers and Gwydir catchments and was commissioned by the Border Rivers-Gwydir catchment Management Authority in NSW. This excellent publication features local indigenous plants from trees to vines, photoagraphs, descriptions, Aboriginal names as well as botanical and common names and traditional usage gleaned from interviews, elders knowledge and historical records. This will be a presentation not to be missed by anyone interested in bushfoods and bush medicines and the hidden indigenous history of our region.
