UNE Landcare working bee

Sunday, 12 Feb
9:00 am

Hope you had a great summer break. Got a new project this year, still working on the creek at campus. This year, with fantastic support from UNE Facilities Management Services (FMS) and the Armidale Urban Rivercare Group (AURG) we will be tackling the woody weeds which are choking up the creek to the east of the Goat Track bridge towards Elm Ave, and to the west of the Goat Track bridge towards the end of the playing fields. There is plenty of privet, willow, poplar, hawthorn and more to be removed before we can get started with plantings at the site.

The first working bee with AURG will be on Sunday 12 February, from 9:00am. Bring gloves, secateurs (if you have them) a hat,  water and a gold coin donation for lunch from the Lions. This will be a great project, and we are very lucky to have AURG helping out as they’ve got more than ten years of experience doing this work.

Also, we have a website – http://unelandcare.wordpress.com/ nothing fancy, but I’ll post info about all events etc up there. I’m looking for a bit of help at the lifesaver day stall, so if you want to lend a hand I would be very grateful!

Hope you can make it! If not, we’ll also be doing something for Clean Up Aus Day March 4 and having another working bee on March 11. RSVP to me please, and invite your mates.

Cheers El
