On Sunday the 13 November, the Uniting Church will be hosting the annual Sharing Simply Meal at 12.00 noon in the Church Hall (Rusden St).
Participants are served a simple meal and donate the cost of the meal that they would have eaten instead. For example, soup and toast $1.50, Steak & vegetables $5.50 or going out to dinner, $30.
The money this year is particular focused on the effects of climate change. Some of the projects include: Act for Peace is working in the Pacific Region, with the Australian Government, to reduce risks associated with natural disasters (eg tsunamis and cyclones);and helping communities plan for climate change impacts. The money will help plant trees, install solar systems and water systems in countries including Papua New Guinea, and the Solomon Islands.
