I have just received my $1,500.00 rebate from the governemnt for converting my 2000 Mazda B2600 table-top ‘ute’ to dual fuel, LPG gas & petrol.
The conversion was done in Sydney & cost $1,700.00. A later spark plug & lead upgrade cost a further $110.00. Driving home from Sydney up the Hunter Valley I saved another $40.00 when re-fueling.
Today, I filled up with LPG at Shell Armidale for 78.8cents/Litre after getting about 7km/Litre fuel economy on LPG. On petrol I usually get 10km/Litre.
The saving for LPG was about half the cost of petrol even allowing for the lower mileage driven.
Details for conversion are available for any interested parties. My truck was off the road unavailable for 24 hours.
