Ross has spent 10 years with Local Land Services managing the network of Travelling Stock Routes and Reserves (TSR’s) which criss-cross the tablelands between Inverell, Tenterfield, Armidale and Walcha. They are vital wildlife corridors and include some of the best remaining examples of the grassy woodlands that used to cover the better soils across the tablelands. Tenders are open for 5-year grazing leases over many of them. Do stock and graziers always get priority over conserving natural values? How are weeds and pest animals managed?
NPA is separate from the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS), a government department.
