Solar Citizens: How do they score?

With just 3 days left until you hit the polls, we’re very excited to bring you our New South Wales Election 2015 Solar Scorecard, with all the information you need to make your vote count for solar on Saturday. Visit our website to find out more on where each party stands.

The future of energy has been a hot topic during this election campaign, but we weren’t hearing enough about the biggest issues facing solar owners and supporters. So, here at the Solar Citizens office we’ve been busy contacting every major political party to find out where they stand on 6 key solar issues. You can read their full responses on our website.

NSW-election-scorecard_(1)Solar Citizens is completely independent. We don’t campaign for any political party, and we won’t tell you who to vote for. However, we do believe the facts are powerful and we want every NSW voter to be armed with those facts before going to the polls on Saturday.

Already there are almost 300,000 New South Wales homes powered by the sun and many more want to get in on the act. But there are big issues that will require leadership from the next state government, including how to ensure fair treatment for solar owners, lower the barriers for more people to go solar and secure a smarter, decentralised power grid.

The future of solar is in your hands, so I encourage you to cast your vote wisely. Study the Solar Scorecard, read the responses we received from each of the parties – they’re all available here on our website – and decide for yourself how best to Vote 1 Sun this Saturday.

For a solar-powered NSW,

Claire O’Rourke,
