The Tucker Patch ~ Gloucester NSW

The Tucker Patch is a demonstration Garden in Gloucester NSW. It’s a place where small and largescale crops are being trialled as a model for sustainability while at the same time providing fresh local produce. It forms part of a larger initiative ~ The Gloucester Project, which is a regional development solution aimed at creating self-sustaining regional communities. The Project draws its strength from being a community-developed economic growth model with a focus on food production.

The initiative was the NSW State winner of the ABC Rural’s Thrive and Revive Challenge.

The Tucker Patch is a model market garden situated on a section of Travelling Stock Route leased from NSW Lands. It is demonstrating the value of underutilised land into valuable agricultural land.

There are many synergies between this work and The Living Classroom initiative which Starfish is a partner with.
