Building a Creative Economy Conference

For anyone interested in pursuing the ideas and actions suggested by the transtion film “The Economics of Happiness”, a weekend forum named “Building a Creative Economy” is to be held in Sydney 29-30 Oct. Speakers include Ian Crane (Oil Economics, Geopolitics and Green Credits), Margrit Kennedy (Complimentary Currencies) and Terry Boardman (Social Threefolding).  There will be screenings of “The Economics of Happiness” and “Cultural Creatives”.

For those of you who did not get to see the film when it was here, Rob Hopkins, Co-founder of the Transition Network and Transition Town Totnes, has this to say of it:

“This passionate film presents a clear and articulate vision of what a shift in the scale at which we do things would look like…Very timely and powerful.”

The conference appears have very similar themes.  The “blurb” says …Our current economic processes are destructive of the environment, of our health, of our culture, of our education, of our economic welfare.  There are other creative solutions and they are possible.
