Last month — students of Armidale high schools organised the local event #ClimateStrike. Well over 200 school students attended the rally at Central Park, Armidale to protest the lack of action by Australian government on climate change.
Rewind to August 2018 — Fifteen-year-old Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg’s started it all with a recurring and solitary Skolstrejk för klimatet (‘School strike for the climate’) protest outside the Swedish parliament in Stockholm which soon attracted media coverage. This video is an address to the U.N. plenary last December in Katowice, Poland, condemning global inaction in the face of catastrophic climate change.
