#RiseForClimate — Saturday 8th September

Saturday, 8 Sep
10:00 am
There is a simple measure for real climate leadership: no new fossil fuel projects, a fast & just transition to 100% renewable energy, and not a dollar more to dirty energy.
But whether it’s Australian universities continuing to invest in the very companies that are accelerating dangerous global warming, or Malcolm Turnbull refusing to #StopAdani and actively blocking climate action, our governments and institutions are failing the test.
This inaction is true of national governments and institutions all around the globe.
The message that it’s time for real climate action. No more stalling, no more delays. No more warm words and empty promises.

There are two ways to get involved in #RiseForClimate on September 8:
University of New England at time of writing had no event, closest is Coffs Harbour

By mobilising on September 8 we will set the bar for what local commitments need to deliver, regardless of what institution is delivering that commitment. Universities, councils, local governments – they all need to commit to an immediate end to new fossil fuel projects, a fast & fair transition to 100% renewable energy, and not a dollar more to dirty energy.
And if they don’t make that commitment now, they better get used to us showing up at their doors.
Will you Rise with us?
