WE WON: The Australian Energy Market Commission (AEMC) dropped its proposal to let power companies charge solar owners unfairly for feeding electricity to the grid!
People at the AEMC – they’re the rule makers in our energy system – didn’t just change their minds by themselves. They made this decision after more than 10,000 people signed our petition and over 2,500 people made individual submissions to the AEMC processes. It just goes to show what we can achieve when we work together to protect the rights of solar owners.
Back in 2013, when the AEMC floated allowing solar owners to be swindled by the big end of town, Solar Citizens across the country banded together to say enough is enough. We won then and we’ve done it again, by standing up for solar together.
Every win for solar has been powered by people like you who are taking action all over Australia to help build a powerful solar movement for change. Solar Citizens’ mission is to stand up for a fair go for solar and ensure we get on with the job of powering our nation by the sun – because it just makes sense.
