Maria Hitchcock is holding an Open Garden as a fundraiser for the Red Cross on

16 Hitchcock Lane (off Old Inverell Rd – 4kms W of UNE) $5 Adults Children free
The Red Cross will be providing Devonshire teas, soup with French bread, sandwiches, tea, coffee, cold drinks, a raffle and a cake stall.
Maria’s garden is a private Botanic Garden (no govt. funding) and there will be some wonderful activities for visitors such as an Aboriginal Plant usage trail and some botanical treasure hunts.
The Correas are all flowering along with my Banksias, Grevilleas, Pin cushion Hakeas, Croweas, Westringias, my red-flowering Iron Bark and my Queensland Fire Wheel tree. The camellias and some of the bulbs are also starting to flower and people will be able to walk through Maria’s small arboretum of Autumn colour.
