Active Hope Workshop

For adults and young people 17+
(Yes, it is Mother’s Day – we weren’t aware of that when we chose the date, but what better way to celebrate Mother Earth! Of course if you need to celebrate the other important mothers in your life, we will have another Active Hope in a few months, hope you can join us then.)
There is some BIG stuff going on out there in the world these days: climate disruption, biodiversity loss, visionless leadership…….What do we do about it all? One choice is putting our heads under the doona and hoping it will all go away. But here is another possibility……
Join us for a day of personal exploration based on the Deep Ecology work of Joanna Macy (US) and John Seed (Aus). Also called “The Work that Reconnects”, you can expect to reconnect to yourself, to your community, and to the earth – through facilitated group exercises that acknowledge both gratitude for the beauty of our world, and despair of what is happening to our planet and to our society. This is the fourth workshop run in Bellingen.
Workshop leader Lisa Siegel has been facilitating Deep Ecology work since 2007, especially with the young people of Bellingen EYE (Environmental Youth Experience). She was lucky to participate in a training with Joanna Macy in 2012 in the US, and then help facilitate two Deep Ecology/Dharma based retreats with John Seed and Will James here in Australia. This is the third Active Hope workshop to run in Bellingen.
The Active Hope workshop is suitable for adults and young people 17+.
