A successful planting day was held on Sunday 11 October with 30 participants planting 480 trees!
The day was in support of Sustainable Living Armidale’s focus on Road to Paris. Richelle Roberts SLA presented the case for planting trees and Angus Adair AURG thanked SLA for their support.
The next working bee will involve completion of planting of Casuarina’s and Lomandra’s on the northern side of Dumaresq Creek and Callistemon’s on the southern side of Dumaresq Creek downstream of Niagara Street. In addition we will follow up with some weeding, mulching and maintenance of the area.
Details of the working bee are as follows:-
- When: Sunday 8 November, 8.30am
- What to bring: BYO long sleeved shirt, long pants and sturdy boots. Please also bring gloves, broad brim hat and sunscreen.
- Location: Southern side of Dumaresq Creek between Niagara and Donnelly Streets, access via Claude Street
As always a morning tea and lunch will be provided for a gold coin donation. If you cannot come for the entire session, come for as much as you can. We hope to see you all there!
