Join school children, parents and community members from around Uralla Shire in the annual Uralla Lantern Parade held each March to coincide with Earth Hour.
Magical, mesmerising and memorable. Enjoy the lantern parade from the footpaths and follow it down to the beautiful Alma Park for an outdoor theatre finale with an environmental theme. This year we are celebrating Uralla being chosen as the first Zero Net Energy town!
Uralla Central School, Park Street from 4:30pm
- 4:30pm Lanterns for sale, facepainting, BBQ begins
- 6:30pm (sharp) Lantern Muster, small & large lanterns
- 7:40pm Lantern Parade departs for Alma Park
Alma Park, Queen Street
- 7:40pm Parade welcomed by choir & seated
- 8:00pm – 9:00pm (approx) Finale performance.
What to bring:
- Warm clothing & picnic rug (if wet umbrellas, raincoats)
- As many friends and neighbours (old & young) as you like.
- Your lantern from last year if you have one (to Uralla Central School Hall at 4:30pm for a safety check).
